How are songs really created and what kind of journey do they take from an initial idea to a finished phonogram? Gramex is launching a new “The Value of Music” video series, and now anyone has the opportunity to apply and share the story behind their own track.

Gramex paid approximately EUR 5.2 million in its summer distribution on 11 June 2026. Remunerations were paid to around 8,000 Finnish performers and producers represented by Gramex.

Gramex’s “The Value of Music” video series launches on 12 June with an episode featuring Eva Louhivuori, taking viewers behind the creation of the new track “Sano se”.

The MyGramex portal will be available throughout the summer.

Gramex is developing an advance payment system that integrates usage data and processes royalties in real time.

The proportion of women among music creators, performers and producers only grows in small increments from year to year. However, the distributions paid to women are increasing more than the proportion of women. Although the differences are still large, both Teosto’s and Gramex’s statistics show that women’s visibility and earnings in the Finnish music industry are increasing.

The 2026 Grammy Awards highlighted Finnish music creators on several fronts. Six Finnish music makers were nominated, and producer Jonas W. Karlsson went on to win an award.
