Sentina, known for its content services Sävelsirkku and Näyttämö, provides a variety of programs including activity, music, exercise, memory and games for rehabilitative work in elderly care. These services are used by both private and public elderly care organisations.

“Memory, games, music, and exercise programs support and promote functional capacity while bringing meaning and joy to life. For each day, complete activity models with content are available, helping to create positive moments for the elderly,” says Kari Mikkonen, CEO of Sentina.

Music is an essential part of methodical content services such as Sävelsirkku and Näyttämö, due to its impactful effects on emotions and memories. Music can be used, for example, in the background for exercise sessions, meals, and for calming purposes

“I’m sure most of us can recognize how the right song can make us feel at a particular moment, and how listening to music can bring back memories. We have collected a diverse collection of tens of thousands of songs from different decades, artists and genres,” says Mikkonen.

Music is also a desirable content feature. For some of Sentina’s customers, the variety and number of songs offered are a key selling point.

“The service works best with songs that match personal preferences, which is why we receive and use a lot of music requests from our customer communities. The most popular music is from past decades,” reveals Mikkonen.

Mikkonen believes that music will remain as one of the most important parts of their services in the future, and Sentina intends to expand the music offerings of their services.

“We are expanding the selection of songs and developing music categorisation based on our customers’ wishes and current trends, so that we can stay on the cutting edge and find music that every user likes and that contributes to their wellbeing.”

Sentina’s services are aimed at the B2B sector and music licensing has been handled through Gramex.
