Do you perform on phonograms or produce them commercially? Make a client agreement with us. The agreement is free.

Who can join?
You can join Gramex as a client if you are a private individual, company or other organisation that performs on a phonogram as an artist or has commercially produced a phonogram. In short, an artist, musician, singer or conductor is an eligible client when their performance is recorded on a phonogram (for instance, they have played an instrument or sang on the recording). A producer may become a client after they have funded the recording of a phonogram. Here, ‘producer’ does not refer to a creative producer.
To become a client, you make a client agreement. The easiest way to become a client is to use the online links below.
There is a link for private individuals and another one for businesses. Electronic agreements require strong identification with bank IDs, for instance.
Under 18-year-olds need a paper agreement because it has to be signed by a legal guardian.

Why join?
By entering into a client agreement, you give us your authorisation to manage your rights under the Finnish Copyright Act. We take care of selling licences for the music you have recorded, collecting remunerations in Finland and abroad and paying them out directly to your account. You can track song use and remuneration payments in the MyGramex portal.
We also actively influence legislation in Finland and Europe to ensure that your rights continue to be secured in the future. As our client, you also stay informed on current industry topics with weekly updates from GramexPress.
Gramex charges no entry or membership fees. We withhold any administration and collection costs from remunerations paid out to you. We also help fund efforts related to promotion and export of music.

New showcase festival seeks solution to stalled Finnish metal exports
Finnish metal music is no longer making international breakthroughs at the rate it used to. That’s why Helsinki is hosting a metal-only showcase festival in May called Welcome to Finland… The capital of metal.

DJ Kridlokk and Mioko Yokoyama win the Teosto award for their compositions
The winners of the 2025 Teosto Prize are Mioko Yokoyama’s composition Mineralization and Kristo Laanti’s works on DJ Kridlokki’s album Hai. The total prize sum of 40,000 euros will be divided equally among the creators of the winning works.
What can I be remunerated for?
Gramex sells licences on your behalf and collects remunerations for phonograms and music videos that are used, for instance:
- on FM and internet radio
- in TV and streaming programmes
- in AV presentations
- at public events
- in public facilities available to customers and personnel, such as hair salons, grocery stores, restaurants, taxis, schools and health services.
Remunerations are paid out four times a year. You can track your remunerations in the MyGramex portal.
What does Gramex not collect remunerations for?
Gramex manages the so called related rights on your behalf from a financial point of view. The authorisation is limited. In other words, no rights are transferred to Gramex. They remain under your ownership, making you the ‘rightsholder.’ For some rights, our rightsholders wish to keep the licence sales to themselves. That is why we do not collect and pay out remunerations for, e.g.
- social media
- advertisements
- movie theatre screenings
- YouTube or Spotify.
For these outlets, rightsholders agree on the use of music and remunerations independent of Gramex. Most often, the licences are available from producers, i.e. record companies.
