Megadeth guitarist organises guitar camp in Helsinki
Metal guitarist Kiko Loureiro, known from Megadeth and Tarja Turunen’s backing band among others, is organising a two-day guitar camp in Helsinki on 1-2 June. Registration for the camp is now open.
For the first time in Europe, the Guitar Experience camp is aimed at guitarists of all levels who want to develop their playing skills, change their playing style or get tips for creative work. For example, you can learn how to turn your ideas into songs, compose guitar solos and improvise.
Participants can play and jam with Loureiro and ask him all sorts of questions about music and guitar playing. They will also get feedback on their playing and have access to Loureiro’s guitar collection.
The camp includes one free Neural DSP plug-in license and access to exclusive rehearsal material. At the end of both days, Loureiro will take the participants for entertainment in the centre of Helsinki.
The fun is not completely free. The cost of the camp is 999€ without accommodation, or 1163-1345€ with accommodation at the Katajanokka Hotel, depending on the room type.
The camp teacher, Kiko Loureiro, who moved to Finland from Brazil, is a guitar virtuoso with over 30 years of experience in guitar playing and has been awarded gold records and several music prizes.
Loureiro started his career with power metal band Angra in the early 1990s before joining Megadeth, one of the world’s biggest thrash metal bands, in 2007. He left the band last autumn for family reasons, and is currently focusing on his solo career.
