Gramex paid out around €4.5 million in the spring settlement of 24.3.2026. Around 9 300 domestic music performers and producers represented by Gramex received compensation.

When Gramex and JVG launched the Value of Music campaign at the end of October 2025, few could have anticipated the phenomenon it would create: the campaign reached a total of 2.37 million people on social media alone. Yet the conversation about the value of music continues, even though the campaign has now been successfully concluded.

The gender distribution in the Finnish music industry is still changing very slowly. The proportion of women among music creators, performers and producers only grows in small increments from year to year. However, the distributions paid to women are increasing more than the proportion of women. Although the differences are still large, both Teosto’s and Gramex’s statistics show that women’s visibility and earnings in the Finnish music industry are increasing.

The artist Vahtera, who is currently working on her third album, believes that the joy of making music stays alive when you are surrounded by good people.

Finland’s largest and most prestigious annual music industry awards, the Emma Gala, will take place this year at Espoo Metro Arena on Saturday, 7 March. Gramex is once again partnering in the Newcomer of the Year award category. Gramex has sponsored the Newcomer of the Year category in previous years as well. Gramex will pay four royalties to music performers and producers in 2026.

Gramex paid out around EUR 5.8 million in the autumn settlement, which was received by around 10 000 domestic music performers and producers represented by Gramex.

According to the 2025 customer and stakeholder survey, Gramex customer satisfaction has remained unchanged. The Gramex Customer Satisfaction Index (NPS) in the survey, which ended in early October, was 43 points, exactly the same as last year's survey. Customers praised the smooth customer service and reliability, among other things.

At the beginning of January 2026, Gramex's client agreement will be updated by decision of the general meeting. The agreement for both music performers and producers will change Gramex's rights to license the use of music. New licensing areas include the use of music as background music for podcasts and the possibility to sell licences to libraries, archives and museums for the use of sound recordings and music videos that have been withdrawn from commercial distribution and thus considered “out of commerce”. The customer may choose to exclude the new areas from their contract.
