Recorded music market continues to grow
The total value of Finland’s recorded music market in 2025 was 113.6 million euros. This represents a 1% increase compared to the previous year. The total market value includes physical and digital sales as well as streaming.
Recorded music sales — covering both digital and physical sales — amounted to 86.1 million euros, compared to 83.3 million euros in 2024. Recorded music sales grew for the eleventh consecutive year. Digital sales continued to dominate, accounting for 95% of all sales, while physical sales represented 5%, of which vinyl accounted for 3%.
Remunerations collected by Gramex for music performers and producers amounted to 27.5 million euros last year, compared to 29.1 million euros in 2024. The decrease is explained in part by a decline in background music remunerations.
Domestic music share continues to grow
The share of domestic music in the recorded music sales of Musiikkituottajat IFPI Finland’s member companies was 38%. The TOP 10 lists for 2025 consisted almost entirely of domestic releases. Both the Top 10 best‑selling albums and the Top 10 most‑streamed tracks were fully domestic, and as much as 85% of the year’s Top 200 most‑streamed tracks were Finnish releases.
Independent labels accounted for approximately 27% of the total consumption of domestic recordings last year. This represents a 2% increase from the previous year.
