International all-stars
Last weekend marked the 25th anniversary of the release of Bomfunk MC’s Freestyler and Darude’s Sandstorm. These iconic songs are still playing around the world.
“Both songs are among the most played Finnish songs internationally and are steadily collecting remunerations from abroad” says Tuomas Talonpoika, Director of Gramex.
Gramex collects and distributes remunerations from over different 30 countries around the world. Remunerations to Finland and to Gramex are based on distribution agreements Gramex has in place with foreign copyright societies. Gramex works hard to expand its network of agreements.
Gramex is also at the forefront of developing international data transfer formats and technology. This means that Gramex is able to collect international income from music in an increasingly advanced and efficient fashion.
