Are you between 16-29 years old and interested in working in the music industry? The application for the new event is now open!
A new free event for young people aged 15-29 interested in music will be organised in Tampere on 5 October. Pre-registration for the event is now open.
Fresh! by Music x Media will give young people the opportunity to learn about working as an artist and event producer, making music, producing content and working for a record company.
The day aims to bring together music professionals and future professionals interested in the industry, and to provide information on jobs and career opportunities in the music sector. The event is the 35th edition of Music x Media, a professional event for music professionals.
The Fresh! by Music x Media programme at Tampere Hall will consist of workshops, presentations, discussions and networking.
The workshops will include songwriting, recording studios, group music writing, a DJ workshop and podcast design and recording. The workshops are open to anyone interested in the subject and no previous experience is required. Guidance is available in both Finnish and English.
The talks will focus on the music industry from different perspectives. For example, singer-songwriter Hassan Maikal and his manager Setumo Bodibe will discuss the role of the manager in an artist’s career, and Teosto and Gramex will give a briefing on what musicians and performers need to know about their rights and the rights of others.
There will also be a panel discussion on starting a career as an artist or songwriter: where to start, how to develop your own musical style, and the challenges and successes of becoming an artist or songwriter. SpotlightKiddo, who plays in Abreu and Isac Elliot’s bands, Joanna, who has written songs for Marcus & Martinus and others, and singer-songwriter Berta will be in the discussion.
The programme will continue after Tampere House at the Tampere Youth Services’ Monitoimitalo.
