What is a catalogue number?
The catalogue number is usually a combination of letters and numbers (e.g. BÖCD 01) that helps identify a phonogram. A catalogue number is required when submitting a phonogram report, and it is assigned by the phonogram's producer. It is recommended that the catalogue number be as distinctive as possible, with a maximum length of 19 characters.
Each phonogram must have its own catalogue number, including digital singles. For a single release, the catalogue number may be the same as its ISRC code, which serves as the track-specific identifier. An album, however, must always have its own separate catalogue number.
Please note: The catalogue number is the same identifier that Teosto refers to as the “identifier assigned to the phonogram by the producer.”
